The energy I bring forth is created from the place of freedom, magic, love, and play. I guide creative business badasses like you towards a business that truly reflects you and your unique business magic by weaving together all of these words, ideas, and principles — so you can feel confident af and get paid your value without fear, guilt, or shame. Period.
Everything I say is rooted in compassion (without sugarcoating it) and aimed at helping you shift your perspective around your business and feel motivated to take the next steps towards your growth.
I strongly believe in many things. At the top of that list is that checking in with yourself is key, everyone deserves to get paid, and confidence only requires a bit of practice.
Why do I do this?
With over a decade of experience in the design field and more than half of that as a self-taught muralist, I have struggled with the same things you are going through right now.
In June 2017, I founded White Coffee Creative, a design studio rooted in Baltimore, MD, USA. Since starting, I’ve designed and painted for 100+ clients, made $400K+ in total revenue (that’s the number before expenses and taxes y’all!), and started scaling and outsourcing work after hitting burnout and wanting more balance.
On top of all of that, I’ve answered hundreds of questions from creatives all over the world. After connecting with so many, I started to see the cracks in the industry — like perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and lack of boundaries.
All of those cracks in my own mindset and business changed after I hired a life and business coach.
Time, countless learning lessons, and investing in myself has brought me a small chunk of wisdom that I’d like to pass on to you as I help you work less and make more. You can read more of my story on the blog here.
Why did I choose the name “The Colorful Jess”?
So many reasons. I’ve always felt like I like and use a lot of color — from my clothes to in my home to my designs and murals. I also love colorful language (can you tell?) and rainbows. Color to me represents freedom, and I share more about my journey figuring this out on the blog here.
How will I show up as your biz guide?
I love archetype and personality tests! I find them validating and use them as tools, and we’ll use them to help identify your unique biz magic. All are pretty dang accurate and have really helped me in life and in biz, so I want to offer that same support and guidance for you!

Some fun personal things about me:
I’m a new mom as of May 2023. This phase of life is WILD but I’m enjoying the hell out of it. It’s fun, exhausting, and precious all at the same time. I’m learning to surrender to the process and be present in the moment so much more than I was.

My partner and I have adopted two border collie mutts together — named Rye and Blaze. We also have a black cat named Nala. Yes, of course they have an instagram, and you can check it out here. Our little family feels complete, for now!

I love the National Park system, and we take yearly trips to Shenandoah since it’s so close, but my hope is to hit all US parks by the time I’m 50 (fingers crossed!).

Bread and cheese are my favorite food groups.

My favorite color changes often. I’ve been obsessed with greens and blues (most notably lime green), but lately I’ve gravitated towards a rich amber gold, and it’s been popping up in my clothes, my murals, and my branding.
